There is no better way to really experience Alaska, with all it's scenery, 'outback areas', wildlife and it's people than by a motor coach tour!! What a perfect time to visit Alaska! We strongly suggest that you see as much of America's last frontier as possible.
Day 1 ... Our first day will be spent traveling west to Lansing, Illinois.
Day 2 ...Today we will travel northwest through Wisconsin stopping at Wisconsin Dells for lunch. On to St Paul and time to shop at the Bloomington Mall.
Day 3 ...Continuing northwest today through Minnesota, Land of Lakes, and into North Dakota. Vast expanses of rolling plains as we travel to the capital city of Bismarck.
Day 4...This morning, we will travel north into Canada. Traveling through the province of Saskatchewan to the capital city of Regina. Overnight will be in Regina.
Day 5... From Regina we travel westward to the Province of Alberta. The Canadian Rockies make a beautiful background as we travel to Calgary, home of the famous Calgary Stampede. In the evening, enjoy the Calgary Tower.
Day 6...Travling through the scenic Canadian Rockies, we will see breathtaking sights as we motor through Banff and Lake Louise. Continuing on to Jasper, we will take a Snow Coach ride over the Columbia Icefield, which covers miles of ice and snow. Jasper will be our home tonight.
Day 7...Today it's northwestward over Yellowhead Pass, stopping at Mt. Robson - the highest point in the Canadian Rockies. Entering British Columbia we travel to Prince George for the night.
Day 8...We motor through Canada's largest and one of the most beautiful provinces to the coastal city of Prince Rupert for overnight lodging. This is the southern terminus of the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry.
Day 9...Leisure time for exploring the town of Prince Rupert until check-out time. Then some sightseeing before heading to the Ferry. You will be assigned to your Cabin for 2 nights lodging. Meals on your own aboard the ferry.
Day 10...A day on the ferry. Our sailing takes you through the beautiful inside passage with stops at Ketchikan, Wrangell and Petersburg. Another night on the ferry.
Day 11...Arrive in Juneau. After docking we will spend some time sightseeing. Your lodging will be in downtown Juneau and you will be able to explore at your leisure after check-in.
Day 12...Early morning departure on the ferry as we continue north to Skagway. We will arrive in Skagway in the afternoon. You will have time to browse and shop.
Day 13...From Skagway we will continue to Whitehorse for overnight. Entertainment tonight.
Day 14...Today takes us to Dawson City, with sightseeing enroute.
Day 15...Leaving Dawson we cross the Yukon River by ferry. We then travel the 'Top of the World Highway' to Tok. From here we continue west to Glenellen for overnight.
Day 16...Today we go to Valdez, the Oil Capital on the Alaska Pipeline. We will see where Old Valdez was, the original site of the city before the earthquake in 1964 destroyed most of the town. Highlight today is the cruise to Columbia Glacier in Prince William Sound.
Day 17 & 18...This morning we travel southwest to Alaska's largest city - Anchorage. This will be our home for the next 2 nights. While here, we will tour the city and you will have free time to sightsee and shop.
Day 19...Northward today through McKinley National Park to view the twin peaks of Mt McKinley, the highest peaks in the Western Hemisphere. Overnight in the Denali Park area.
Day 20...Park Wildlife tour early this morning. We then continue on to Fairbanks and a salmon bake in the evening is included.
Day 21...Tour day around the city of Fairbanks. Also a cruise aboard the Discovery III on the Tanana and Chena RIvers. A visit to the North Pole!
Day 22...Say goodbye to Alaska as we travel "The Trail of 42" to Kluane National Forest. Overnight in Haines Junction.
Day 23...Eastward today through the Yukon, passing through Whitehorse and traveling on to Watson Lake where we will see the famous collection of signposts started by workers on the Alcan Highway in 1942.
Day 24...Leaving the Yukon Territory this morning, we will once again travel through British Columbia. As we travel you will note that most of the area is still frontier country. We travel to Fort Nelson for the night.
Day 25...Again we travel the Alaska Highway southeast to Milepost '0' at Dawson Creek.
Day 26...Once again we travel through the province of Alberta. We travel to the capital city of Edmonton for overnight and a stop at the Edmonton Mall.
Day 27...We continue south today through Alberta to Calgary, From there we travel to Montana and Glacier National Park. Overnight in Kalispell MT
Day 28... Still in Montana, we drive through a state of vast expanses of mountains and prairie land. Our home for the night wil be in BIllings, MT
Day 29... Our first stop today is Custer's Battlefield at Little Big Horn. Traveling east through Wyoming and South Dakota we stop for some sightseeing in Keystone SD.
Day 30...The Badlands, Bear Country and Wall Drug Store take our time today. The Corn Palace and Mitchell are our destination tonight.
Day 31...Continuing east we travel through South Dakota and then on to Des Moines for the night.
Day 32...Travel throught the farmlands of Iowa on our way to Indiana for our lodging.
Day 33...Homeward bound with lots of unforgettable memories of our wonderful tour.
