Moosin In Maine

Day 1 .....  Travel day with meal and rest stops. Upon arrival at the Meadowmere Resort in Oqunquit you will be met by a 'Lobsterette' and be provided with your festive Maine Moosin' hat for the week.   Welcome reception before dinner at a nearby restaurant.

Day 2 ..... Following breakfast, travel into the scenic western mountains of western Maine.  At Ricker Hill, you will tour cranberry bogs, apple orchards, and a cider mill.  Learn how cranberries and apples are harvested and packed.  Next step back in time at the Washburn Living History Museum. You will have a guided tour of this rural estate that housed 7 famous brothers, participate in an old-fashioned school house program and enjoy a country-style luncheon.  Follow the scenic byway to the Village of Rangeley, the Moosin' Capital of Maine.  Two nights lodging at the Rangeley Inn, located on the lake within walking distance to quaint shops and village antique stores.  Enjoy a welcome reception and dinner.

Day 3 ..... After breakfast take a narrated boat cruise on Rangeley Lake.  Step back in time at the unique Oqussoc Union Log Church, made of logs in 1916.  It is still in use today as a house of worship.  Tour the new Rangeley Outdoor Sporting Museum.  Learn about the wooden boats and steamboats that traveled the lake and the hunter, fisherman and Native Americans who have flocked to the beautiful Lakes region for centuries.  This afternoon you will have a unique gold panning expedition.  You will meet with a local prospector along the banks of the Swift River, where you'll look for those golden nuggets.  Return to the inn for your included dinner.  Then don your camera and go 'Moosin' around the lake with a local gide aboard your motorcoach to try and spot these gentle giants.

Day 4 ..... Breakfast this morning before departing for a colorful ride in western Maine.  Make a stop at the King Arthur Factory where the staff will introduce you to the King Arthur Flour process.  You will have time to shop and have lunch.  Continue to Shelburne Falls for photo stop at the Bridge of Flowers.   Next stop is Yankee Candle Factory and Museum.   Overnight lodging in Chicoppe, MA, wih dinner included this evening.

Day 5 ..... Following breakfast, depart for home with great memories of 'Moosin in Maine'
